Frequently Asked Questions

Location and Hours

Where is the resort located?

Paradise 4 Paws is located near both of Chicago’s major airports.

Paradise 4 Paws O’Hare is located by the long-term parking lots near the intersection of Irving Park Road and Mannheim Road: 10516 United Parkway, Schiller Park, IL 60176

What are the resort hours?

Paradise 4 Paws Chicago Hours:

Sunday – Saturday: open 24 hours

We are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.  Our lobby hours are 7:00am to 7:00pm. However, there is always a team member on site to supervise our furry guests and to manage your check-in/check-out. We may not be at the front desk before 7:00am and after 7:00pm, so please call ahead to ensure we are at the front to let you in.

Airport Parking

How does the airport parking and transportation work?

We offer onsite parking at our resort for $22/night. Transportation to/from the terminal is complimentary with the use of parking. Parking reservations must be made in advance. For airport transportation when our company shuttle is unavailable (typically before 7:00am or after 7:00pm), a cab will be provided for you and the cab fare will be deducted from your total at check out.

Tours

Can I take a tour of your resort? Can I just drop in any time to take a tour?

We do offer daily tours of our resort.  However, we ask that you make a reservation online or call to schedule an appointment ahead of time. This allows us to (1) ensure that we have a team member available to show you what Paradise has to offer and to answer all the questions you may have regarding your pet’s stay with us; and (2) limit disruptions to our guests. Any new people moving about the resort can cause a rise in excitement and agitation among our guests, especially when dogs are in playgroup, so for their safety, we do our best to keep this to a minimum.

Please contact us at 847.678.1200 to schedule a tour.

*Please note that during holidays or other busy weekends, we are generally unable to accommodate tours.

Can I bring my pet along for the tour?

We definitely want to meet your pet and understand wanting to see how he/she takes to our resort, but for safety reasons, your pet cannot accompany you on the tour.  We are happy to discuss options for your pet to “test” us out ahead of time if that is your concern.  For example, for dogs, you are welcome to a trial half or full day of daycare to find out what we’re all about.

Reservations and Registration

How do I make a reservation?

You can make a reservation online using our client portal or by calling us. If you are a first-time client, please also make sure your profile in the portal is complete and e-mail us a record of your pet(s)’ vaccines. You can review our vaccine requirements here.

How far in advance do I have to make a reservation?

In general, we recommend making a reservation AT LEAST a week in advance to allow enough time for the registration process and a visit to the vet if needed prior to coming to Paradise 4 Paws.  During holidays, we recommend making a reservation as far in advance as possible. We do, however, accommodate last-minute requests based on availability.

What kind of paperwork do I have to fill out before my pet can visit Paradise 4 Paws?

You will need to complete registration forms, which include the enrollment forms, our rules and regulations, and a pet parent agreement. We ask that the registration packet be returned to us at least 24 hours prior to your pet’s first visit (emailed, faxed, submitted online or dropped off) so we can prepare for his or her arrival.

How many potty breaks does my dog get?

There is a potty break early in the morning, during each playgroup – one in the morning and one in the afternoon, and another potty break in the evening before bedtime.

Do the guests ever go outside?

We have very spacious indoor play areas with canine grass, so that going outside is not necessary. However, we do have outdoor areas for our guests to enjoy, weather permitting.* Additionally, we offer an add-on activity, called an Outdoor Hike, where we can take your dog outside on a leash. If you are interested in this option, please inquire when you make your reservation.

*We cannot guarantee use of outdoor space.

What should I bring with my dog?

We are a full-service resort and therefore, we do not accept any outside bedding or blankets. With a range of premium bedding available based on suite type, we provide all the comforts your pup should need.

The only items you will need to bring are food (ideally in pre-portioned baggies) and non-injection meds in original packaging. We can provide our house food for an additional fee, but it is best for your pet to stay on their regular diet.

Additionally, we provide water and food bowls for all our guests. Please refrain from bringing belongings from home. Paradise 4 Paws is not responsible for lost or damaged items.

One of my dogs always tries to eat the others food and I have to supervise. How do you handle this?

We can either supervise or separate your pets at feeding times.  Please specify either on your registration forms, or inform us at the time of check-in, if your pets need to be supervised/separated during feeding times.

My dog is on medication. Can you administer that while he/she stays with you? How much does that cost?

Yes.  Basic oral and topical medications can be administered free of charge.  More specialized medications incur a $25/day fee. Unfortunately, at this time we are unable to administer injections.
